Question - I have KME but was interested in another guided system, either TSProf or Hapstone. If it doesn't clamp FFG's like the KME then not interest.
Answer - Both Hapstone and TSProf have many clamp options that will clamp knives much more securely than a KME clamp, especially when 2 clamps are used. 1 clamp should be positioned on the ricasso / flat tang area of your knife, and the other should be positioned a short distance back from the tip of the knife.
We also have GearConnect adapters to be able to use clamps from most manufacturers on other systems. For example, you could use KakBritva specialized clamps with various FFG cutouts on a Hapstone or TSProf system.
The standard KME clamp is restricted my its geometry, limited by the spacing of the back plate and it will only clamp a small range of knives very securely. KME compensates for the geometry limitations of their clamp with rubber inserts, but rubber inserts can never fully compensate for the geometry limitations.
