The Boride T2 stones are Aluminum oxide, which performs very well with basic steels like the 10 series steels and 01. Even though 01 has some Vanadium and Chromium, it doesn't create excessively hard carbides like you would have in some high Vanadium steels. If you only ever want to sharpen these steels, then the T2 stones are just fine.
If, in future you want to sharpen a wider range of steels, including high Vanadium carbide steels, then Venev stones is the way to go.
