You can use a hard bristle nylon brush and dish soap + water to scrub them clean. If you want to refresh the surface a bit more, then Bar keepers friend abrasive cleaner works well.
For reconditioning the surface, a Nagura stone (like the King Nagura or the Breeze Nagura stone) works well. Simply rub it over the surface of the Venev stone for a short while under running water.
