Hello ill try to help seeing as no one else has jumped in. I purchased every Venev industrial diamond compound in every rated grit from the selection on the site(Gritomatic) and yes I see what you mean that they do have double numbers once you get them. Going by what I ordered I go by the first number I.E. I purchased 60,40,20,14,10,etc...etc... all the way down and they were marked 60/40,40/20,20/14,14/10,etc.. etc.. So like I said I go by 60 XXcourse, 40 XXcourse, 20course,14medium,etc.. etc... So long story short go by the first number because that's how you'll pick what you want from the site and that's how they are labeled on the site from Course to ultra fine. Hope this helps. Also just my opinion but I would suggest you get 60and40 for your extra course and course as they are both Orange color. 20and14 both for your medium course and medium as both are Blue. 10and5 as both are dark green and then 2and1 for ultra fine polishing as both are light green. That should cover all your needs and as stated in reviews of Venev stropping compound, you get a lot! guitarguy2474@gmail.com if i can help further.

According to my layman's understanding from the Google translation of Venev's site.... the numbers represent the range of grain sizes present in the particular diamond powder used to make a compound. For example, the 60/40 would be grains between 60 and 40 microns. The higher number is what's important for our purposes.
