The rating provided to Hapstone from the manufacturer, is quoted as a JIS grit rating. (Presumably JIS R6001 rating)
However, when I view my set under a microscope it appears that the size of the protruded portion of the diamonds are the following approximate sizes:
Hapstone CBN "J100" = 150-220μ
Hapstone CBN "J220" = 80-100μ
Hapstone CBN "J400" - 40-70μ
Hapstone CBN "J800" - Slightly more than 15μ
Hapstone CBN "J1200" - Slightly less than 15μ
Note - this is my own personal early production set as viewed under a digital microscope.
