Q - in gunny strop the best strop? if so what makes it the best strop? please help me. i have gunny juice now i need the best strop. I keep hearing about leathers, denum, kangaroo leather, cow leather, horse leather, even balsa wood, idk what is the best strop?
A - There is not really such a thing as the "best" strop. It has a lot to do with personal preference and pressure and technique of usage. Different people prefer different strops because they have very different techniques. I would suggest starting off with a non-compressible (or minimally compressible) strop material such as thin leather or even a wood surface. Experiment from there and see what works best for you.
