Yes, they do cut faster than Venev Orion stones, but they also leave a less polished edge compared to Venev Orion stones - if you're after a mirror polished edge. Metallic bonded diamond stones (such as the Archer series) fall into a nice all-rounder category. They cut fast but not to the point of being too damaging on an edge and they leave a good, solid, sharp edge. They have nice feedback and yes, they are not magnetic. The backing is also aluminum as you mentioned.
They do not cut as fast as diamond plated stones such as the Atoma stones though. Diamond plated stones are very aggressive and faster cutting than any bonded type of stone, but they are also a lot more aggressive on an edge. If you want to move metal faster (like cutting a new, lower angle edge or repairing chips etc.) then diamond plated stones are the best choice.
