How to ID TSPROF Center Fillet va TSPROF standard center clamp? K03 Center Clamp Adapter

Both are shown as having black jaws and a silver frame, although on the TSPROF site the fillet has silver jaws. I was sent what I thought to be the center fillet, but it has black jaws. I'm just trying to avoid going beyond 2.5 mm spine thickness and damaging the jaws. If I had both center clamps I don't know how I'd tell them apart...

ALSO, if I do need a standard center clamp, am I correct in that I can reproduce that with my standard whole milled clamps by just getting the L adapters? Seems that would offer the same solution as getting the standard center clamp for a bit less. Thanks!

Yes, with the L-adapters you can do the same things as a center clamp. As far as the fillet clamps go, Gritomatic likely just has an older generation photo where they are both the same color. Having a fillet vs standard clamp side by side, you will clearly see the difference of the fillet clamp being much thinner with a lower profile.

Thank you for the information (I couldn’t find my original account so asked this as a guest, and also mistakenly selected this “K03 Center Clamp Adapter” as the topic rather than just “K03 Center Clamp.”.).

I think you’re exactly right and TSPROF has simply upgraded the product / picture. I’ve used this center fillet clamp for small Swiss Army knives, but was moving into some thicker folding knife blades and was routinely going past 3 mm. That’s about it with this clamp though I could probably push it to 3.5mm. Then I started looking at pics of the regular center clamp and got myself confused. Thanks also for the info on the L clamps; rather than getting the standard center clamp I think I’ll just get those and use my regular whole milled clamps together for smaller folding knives, and have the best of both worlds for a little less $. Also, this center clamp adapter I linked to this question doesn’t seem to be as good a solution, as with the L adapters you can also go very wide if needed. Thanks again. 👍
