Do you have to use the linear bearing with precision adjust? Advanced Stone Holder with Linear Bearing for Hapstone RS and Work Sharp PPA

The worksharp does not have a nickel plated rod so the bearing’s steel balls will dig into the rod and ruin it.

Do you have to keep the linear bearing to use with the work sharp?

No, you don't need the bearing version if you prefer not to have bearings. You can either use the plain tube version, or even better - use the Leading Edge stone holder for the Professional precision adjust. Link below:
