That depends on the grit rating of your preference. There are many standards of grit ratings. As an example, average 4 micron grit size would equate to either a JIS6001 grit rating of approximately 3000, or a Shapton grit rating of approximately 4000, or a FEPA-F grit rating of approximately 1000.
