The silver side (aluminum side) is the backing plate. The tan side is the abrasive/ sharpening side.
I have Venev Orion stones. Which side is the sharpening side; the silver side with the writing, or the plain side? Venev Orion Series Diamond [6" x 1"]
#1200 written on silver side. Tan side has 15 OTK
#800 written on silver side. Tan side has 16 OTK
# 400 on silver side. Tan side has 13 OTK
# 240 on silver side. Tan side OTK # worn off.
