First time sharpener, bought Venev 400/800 Phoenix, need help getting started.
Pretty sure I scraped off the diamonds on the 400 side trying to get rid of all of the smooth green bonding because I couldn't see any results. After that, I tried scrubbing it using dish soap for 30 sec. Then I tried sharpening again. Tried 50 strokes, my burr felt more like a bump. Maybe I am missing the apex, so I kept trying. Is the 400 Venev not working or does this sound like user error? First knife, spent an hour and may have made it duller.
