Answer Question
Settling of Venev compound sampler?
Recently, I got the 8-pack samplers of Venev diamond stropping compounds.
It seems like for many of the coarser grits, if I'm reading the chart correctly, I should be able to easily feel the grit, however the little pucks just seem to be pure wax if i scrape up a bit with a fingernail and rub it between my fingers. For example, the brown/black puck marked as "125/100", assuming that's something approximating grit, or the GOST 9206 standard listed in the grit chart, should be something like 120 grit, which I should definitely be able to feel if i rub it between my fingers, but all I get is pure smooth wax.
I'm wondering if it might have melted and settled in storage/shipping? Does anyone think it might be beneficial to transfer the compound to another small container and mush it around/stir it up, to try to evenly distribute the grit again?
Thanks!
